Crosby William RAMPTON

January 28, 2005

Sadly on January 28, 2005 at the age of 63 his brave battle with cancer ended. Everyone whose life he touched will miss him dearly. Crosby was born into a farming family in Morden Man. on March 7, 1941. He grew up on the farm before moving to Winnipeg as a young adult. He moved briefly to Vancouver before returning to farming life on the new family farm now in Oak Lake Man. In 1977 he again moved west and found his true home in Chilliwack.

In Chilliwack he worked for McGaw insurance, before joining An independent adjusting firm, and eventually starting his own Insurance Adjuster company (Fraser Valley Adjusters). In his last years he decided to work full time with his two sons with the Rampton Landscape Group.

Crosby was also very involved in the community he loved so much. He worked tirelessly throughout Chilliwack on many great projects and touched so many lives, he lived the great Rotary motto "Service above Self'. He was the Chairman of the Chilliwack Hospital Board, involved in the BC Summer Games, and a very proud member of the Chilliwack Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris fellow, and the executive secretary for many years.

Crosby is was predeceased by his father Lawrence.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his mother Viola, his brothers Glen and Stan, his sisters, Laurel, Janis and Merrilee. His children Lori-lynn (Hans), Christopher, Alaina, Lori Susan, Crosby Jr. (Cher), Matthew (Danette), stepchildren, Candice (Ken), and Kelly (Timber). And 18 grandchildren who he adored so very much. We will all miss his kind words, adoring smile, and gentle touch. He made us who knew him better for it, and thoughts of him will always bring a warm smile to faces. Good bye dear friend, Dad, Papa, we will miss you.

There will be a celebration of his life held 7-10 pm on Thursday Feb. 3, 2005 at the Best Western. All are invited.

A special thank you to the all the caring nurses, doctors and support staff at the palliative care unit at CGH.
