Born in Nottingham, England on April 9, 1920. Colin passed away peacefully on September 29, 2010 in Chilliwack with family at his side.

At four years of age Colin moved to Upper Broughton, England to live with his grandparents and attended Christian School of which his grandfather and grandmother were the principals.

He remained with them until he was 15 and all of his fondest childhood memories are those shared with his grandfather, attending his school and the Sunday service at the local church. He joined the R.A.F and was stationed in Charlottetown, P.E.I where he met Esther Hart, whom he married and shared 69 wonderful years together.

They would then move out west in 1955. Colin worked for Woodwards Dept. Store for 35 years. Four years ago Colin and Esther moved to Chilliwack to be closer to their daughter.

Colin is survived by his beloved wife Esther; sons Paul of Ottawa and Philip (Su) of Burnaby; daughter Patricia (Tony) Zandl; grandchildren Laura (Dan) Kingma and Stephen Zandl and Chelsea Durber; great-grandchildren Bethany, Miriam, Vienna, Ruby, Clive as well as other nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A graveside service was held at 1 pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Chilliwack Cemetery, 10010 Hillcrest Drive (Little Mountain Cemetery). Following the interment, a Celebration of Colin’s life was held at 2 pm at Coast Chilliwack Hotel, 45920 - 1st Ave., Chilliwack.
