Clifford Thengs passed away peacefully on March 28 with his family by his side. Survived by his wife Nancy, of 61 years, four children (Tracy, Terri, Darren, and Collin), six grandchildren (Bevin, Coby, Tyler, Cody, Brittney, and Taylor), ten plus great-grandchildren, three siblings (Ormand, Irene, and Frances), and numerous relatives in Alberta and Norway.
Clifford was a gifted singer and guitarist, singing lead for many Country Western bands in Alberta and British Columbia throughout his life. This included weekly appearances on Red Deer's local television station (CHCA-TV) with his band, The Riviera, in 1964 and 1965.
As a skilled woodworker, Cliff crafted many functional items for family and friends. He enjoyed working with his hands and always had a project on the go. As an avid outdoorsman, Cliff took great pleasure in keeping his lines tight when fishing his favourite rivers and lakes-often accompanied by his two sons.
A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Vera Nyirenda, Dr. Chris, Dr. Lee, Dr. Whalley, and the caring staff at Cascade Hospice residence. The family would also like to thank Mr. Dave Dean for being the best neighbour and friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Chilliwack Hospice Society.
