Cliff passed away at Bradley Center in Chilliwack, BC on September 19, 2020. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Val, son, Ian, and sister, Emma Justik of Edmonton.
He was born to Nelson & Katharina Barager on a farm in Osler, Saskatchewan in 1926. In 1944 Cliff joined the RCAF and served with them till the end of WW2. In 1948 he joined the RCMP in Regina. He served in Manitoba and BC.
In 1951 he was posted to BC. His first detachment was Courtenay, where he met his wife, Val. They were married in 1953 and had postings at Colwood, Chilliwack and Kamloops.
After his retirement in 1972 he worked briefly as the Police Chief of Nelson BC. Then in 1976 the move was to Chilliwack. He was the Bylaw Enforcement Officer for the City of Chilliwack. After amalgamation it was with the District of Chilliwack. He retired from there in 1976.
Cliff & Val started travelling and had many trips to Hawaii, Europe, cruises and 20 years as 'Snow Birds' in Yuma, AZ. After Yuma even though Cliff was legally blind, he went back to curling and did so into his 94th year. He also was a golfer, square dancer, gardener & quiet friend to all.
Cliff had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 45 years and a proud Shriner, riding his scooter in parades for their philanthropy, Shriners Children's Hospitals.
Our thanks to Dr. Markey, Dr. Wolff and the Home Support Nurses who all were so helpful and thoughtful .
