Clark Wayne Hitchcock

July 6, 1954 - June 21, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Clark Wayne Hitchcock, of Chilliwack, BC, passed away on June 21, 2024, following a short battle with esophageal cancer.

Clark, a dearly loved husband and brother, fun-loving uncle, devoted realtor, and caring friend was born in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan to Wayne and Erna Hitchcock on July 6, 1954. He attended elementary school in Carragana, SK, and graduated from the Porcupine Plain Composite High School in 1972. Clark went on to earn a certificate in business from the University of the Fraser Valley.

Clark was a grain farmer in Somme, Saskatchewan for 10 years before moving to the Fraser Valley in 1987.

He married Sue (Teigrob), the love of his life in 1988 and they enjoyed being in business together, establishing several restaurants in Chilliwack. Clark became a real estate agent in 2005 and he and Sue worked in that industry, until his death.

Clark loved His Lord and Saviour and wholeheartedly participated in the activities of his church. He found meaning and significance in serving and encouraging people through his work and his friendships. Clark loved gardening in his spare time and developed new and innovative methods each summer to produce a more abundant harvest.

Clark is survived by Sue Hitchcock, his wife of 36 years, his sisters Sharon (Dave) Dickey, and Cheryl (Rich) Wilton as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Erna Hitchcock.

We are grateful for the excellent care that Clark received from the doctors and staff at the hospital in Mérida, Mexico. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus.

Clark was laid to rest on June 24th, in Blue Creek, Belize, his favourite place to relax. The family wishes to extend their deepfelt gratitude to the many friends and colleagues who prayed for Clark and now share in our grief.

A memorial service will be held at the Chilliwack Church of God, 45814 Lewis Avenue, on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the church, where stories will be shared and memories cherished.
