On Wednesday the 14th of December, 2016, our beloved Christopher (Chris) Janz quietly slipped away from us - a son, a brother, a father, a friend, an immensely talented creator and lover of music, and a man whose greatest joy was his wonderful daughters of whom he was so very proud. Born in 1977 in Loerrach, Germany, Chris is survived by his parents Paul and Beth, his siblings Cara Colorado, Colin Janz and Kelsey Janz, his dearly loved Carmelle and Cadence, daughters with his former wife Feather Sherwood, and many friends both personal and professional. Chris grew up in West Vancouver, Mission and Abbotsford, attending high school at MEI. A prolific and brilliant musician, composer, lyricist, performer, producer and engineer, Chris continued to write and work with undiminished intensity even through his last years which were marked by profound personal suffering; his passion to touch and help others in need remained to the end. At the time of his death Chris was actively working on raising awareness surrounding the impact of the stigma of addiction on addicts’ lives. We mourn Chris’s loss with deepest sorrow. We take comfort in the knowledge that his valiant heart of gold is finally at peace. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to ‘Remembering Chris’ which supports his daughters’ education:
