March 14, 1963 - March 3, 2020
With deep sorrow, the family of France Christine Forest announces her passing away on March 3, 2020 at Quesnel, BC following a short, devastating illness.
Born in Beausejour, Manitoba on March 14, 1963 to Rae and Rene (Thacker) Forest, Christine spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Chilliwack, BC. She studied at Fraser Valley College and Simon Fraser University, where in 1987 she received her degree in Communication with a minor in Political Science.
Christine went on to work for the Ministry of Human Resources in Invermere and Prince George; and Kootenay Employment Services in Cranbook. She found her niche in her employment as Marketing Director for Tamarack Mall in Cranbrook; and later enjoyed the same positions at shopping malls in Calgary and Chilliwack.
Christine was a bright and creative person, generous and kind and funny, making people laugh with her often comical outlook and occasional wry comments on life and politics. Christine was predeceased by her father, Rae Forest in September, 2018; her grandparents Lindsay and Nora Thacker, and Rene and Laurette Forest; her aunt, Simone Forest; and her stepfather, Bob MacDonald. Christine is survived by her mother, Rene MacDonald; brothers James Forest and John Forest; nephew, Luca Forest Fiore; uncles, Michael (Anne) Thacker and Bernard (Ann) Thacker; aunt, Louise (Dave) Williams; and cousins in BC, Quebec, Seattle and New York.
At Quesnel Hospice, Christine received especially kind and gentle care during her last days. If you wish to make a donation in her memory, please consider the Quesnel Hospice Palliative Care Association, Box 4537, Quesnel, BC, V2J 3J8; or the Fraser Canyon Hospice Society, 1275 - 7th Avenue, Hope, BC V0X 1L4.
