Charles Vernon “Sam” Samuel

May 2, 1919 – December 12, 2018
On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, God called our beloved Sam home to be with his Lord and Saviour.

Born May 2, 1919 in Nelson, B.C. to Samuel and Jennie Walker, Sam was raised on a farm in Burton, B.C.

After serving in the Medical Corps during WW2, he worked as a carpenter and later as a steam engineer at Cominco in Trail, B.C. and Chilliwack General Hospital.

Sam is survived by Dora, his wife of 70 years, and children Vern (Jean), Janet (Roger) and Joyce, plus 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The last few years of his life were spent at Waverly Seniors Village in Chilliwack, where they recognized the depth and value of his character. The family wish to thank the staff for their tender care of Sam during his stay there.

Graveside service was held on December 18, 2018 at Chilliwack Cemetery. Celebration of Life service is planned for Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2 pm at the Waverly (8445 Young Road).
