“Chuck”

Chuck Shaw passed away, aged 82 years, on August 31, 2009 at Chilliwack General Hospital following several weeks of battling pneumonia.

Chuck was born in Vancouver, July 8, 1927, but spent most of his early years in Chilliwack. As an adult he lived in the Lower Mainland, owning Chuck’s Cartage. His work took the family to Hope, where he became involved in the community with the Hope Chamber of Commerce. He returned to Chilliwack after joining the Corrections Service. When he retired from Corrections, he enjoyed travelling, fishing and was an active member of the Mt. Cheam Lions Club and the Hard of Hearing Association. He enjoyed his visits to the “Y” which he attended regularly until his illness.

Chuck is survived by Pat, his wife of over 50 years; children, Larry (Fern) Shaw, Deb Jarvis (Andy Beil), Charlene (Gerry) Burke, Andrea (Jim) McIsaac and son in law Ron Jarvis; grandchildren, Erica (Jason) Tremblay, Lance (Sara) Jarvis, Nathan Jarvis (Jen McNutt), Caleb (Theresa) Jarvis, Shawn McIsaac, Laura McIsaac, Ashley Shaw, Chad Shaw, Carmen Burke and Matthew Burke; great-grandchildren, Kessa, Josh, Isaak, Josie, Venna, Zy, Aviendha and Qhaden with 2 more on the way.

A Celebration on Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 3:30 pm from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. A reception will follow at the Mt. Cheam Lions Club Hall, Spadina Ave., Chilliwack.

Please, no flowers by request. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the BC Lung Association or the Chilliwack YMCA Endowment Foundation.
