Cecil Edward Pogue went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Chilliwack BC. He was born January 9, 1935 in New Westminster to George and Isabella. He worked for Canadian Forest Products but the job where he made the greatest impact was driving a school bus for children with disabilities. He kept in contact with many of those kids and their families long after he retired. He loved sports and was part of a bowling team and an avid golfer for many years. Even after his balance forced him to stop playing sports, he continued to watch them on TV and follow the standings and was always up for a discussion on last night’s game. Cecil held several positions in churches he attended over the years, from greeter and usher to bookkeeper and even gave rides to any who could not get to and from church on their own. When Cecil moved to Valleyhaven, he quickly became a favorite of many of the nurses, teasing them and making them laugh. Cecil is lovingly remembered by his wife Dianne; daughter Melany (& Rob Hansen); grand- daughter Rachel Hansen; niece Marilyn Bulmer and her daughter Marlow Bulmer. He is predeceased by sister Beatrice. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 9th at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack.
