“Loving mother and grandmother”
‘Retta’ passed away peacefully at home on March 10th after a long battle with CREST disease. She was born in Souris, Manitoba, and came to Vancouver to attend psychiatric nursing school at Essondale and graduated with honours in 1948. After nursing at Essondale, she moved to Millar Bay T.B. Hospital to work. There she married and soon moved to Ryder Lake where she has lived for the past 52 years, raising her family.
Retta will be sadly missed by husband George, children Debbie, Randy, Cathy and Richard. She was pre-deceased by daughter Patricia. She also leaves grandchildren Jaimee, Curtis, Cody, Dustin, Adam, Cheryl, Levi, and great-granddaughter Charlee.
She was a wonderful mother and a true friend to many. She will always be in our thoughts.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held at the Ryder Lake Community Hall, 49285 Elk View Road, on Saturday March 24th at 1:30pm.
