(nee Morgan)

Feb. 6, 1947 - March 9, 2010

It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, sister, grandmother and best friend.

Carol was born in Drumheller, Alberta to Jack and Madeleine Morgan, the third in a family of six children.

She was sadly predeceased by her youngest brother

Michael, and her brother

Jackie.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Lorne and her daughter Tammi (Gerry) Hamel of whom she was extremely proud. She also leaves behind her pride and joy, grandsons: Chyle and Sagar, along with her son-in-law Gerry whom she considered as one of her own.

Carol will be missed by her brother Art; sisters, Pat and Doreen; and her sister-in-law and best friend Ruby.

On July 3, 1965, Carol married the love of her life, Lorne. In November, their daughter Tammi was born. The family left Alberta in March 17, 1967 for Terrace, where two years later she started work at BC Tel. She transferred to Kamloops in 1970.

In the spring of ’76 the family came to Chilliwack, where Carol continued to work for what was to become Telus in their Abbotsford office. In 1996 she took early retirement, looking forward to helping raise her first grandchild Chyle, followed 6 years later by Sagar. Sadly, a few short years after retirement, Carol started to show signs of Alzheimer’s. In the fall of 2008, Carol went to be in the safe, loving care of the staff at “The Waverly”, to whom we are very grateful. She will always be remembered for her smile, her kindness, her need to always put others ahead of herself, and most of all her unconditional and extremely deep love for her family. She will be dearly missed by all.

“Too well loved to ever be forgotten.”

A Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Carol Hansen will be held at the Chapel of Woodlawn-Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack, BC at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory to: Alzheimer’s Research of UBC Alzheimer’s Clinic, 2211 Westbrook Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 2B5 would be appreciated.
