Bud spent 41 years in train service with the British Columbia Railroad. The move to Chilliwack was both exciting and sad. Sad in leaving Prince George where they lived for 38 years, a small city loved by both Bud and Leasl. But excited in moving to beautiful Chilliwack. Bud spent 17 years volunteering with the Salvation Army soup kitchen and loved it. He enjoyed the work and greatly appreciated working with the other volunteers. Bud was active with Christ Lutheran Church and with the Senior's Group at Christ Lutheran Church.

Bud leaves to mourn his loss, wife Leasl of 68 years, son David (Annette), daughter Kim (Michael), grandson Jonas (Cheryl), granddaughter Carla (Jamie) and two great granddaughters, Leia and Adrienne. Bud was predeceased by son Darcy in 2017. Bud was greatly respected by all who knew him and will be missed for his caring attitude, his wit, and for the man he was
