Wilkinson; (Donald) Bruce. Bruce passed away peacefully with his wife Louise by his side on December 13, 2013 at Valleyhaven Retirement Community Care Centre in Chilliwack, B.C. at age 70 after a long struggle with Alzheimers Disease. Bruce was born in Vancouver, BC. He worked at Seagram's Distillers for a few years, then the Liquor Distribution Branch until his retirement. He was a man of great integrity and his family was his life passion. His happiest places were among friends and family at Leighton Lake and Gabriola. Bruce was most comfortable in the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Louise, sons John (Tina), Bryan (Sarah) and stepson Nicholas. Grandchildren Tyler, Holly, Ben and Merrin. Sister Dolores Woods and brother-in-laws George MacLean and Dan Foote. Also survived by his former wife Alexis. Predeceased by his brother Garth Wilkinson and sister Laural MacLean. Bruce had a very close large extended family of nieces and nephews and friends of whom he cherished dearly.
Heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Valleyhaven for their loving care of Bruce the last few years. A celebration of life will be held on December 28, 2013 at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel, 8750 204th Street, Langley at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC in memory of Bruce.
