On April 26th 2007 Betty Emily Gage our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed into the arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Betty was born on September 13th, 1926 in Essex, England, only child of Reginald and Lillian Hasted.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 yrs John Edwin in 2002.
She is survived by her daughter Frances (Bryce) Farrell, Grandson Tynann (Charlene) Tattersall and great grandchildren Gavyn and Savanna.
Betty spent the first 40 years of her life in England and the last 40 years in Canada. After immigrating to North Vancouver with her husband and daughter in 1966. She worked full time as an executive secretary for many years, her last position as assistant to the Consulate General of Great Britain in Vancouver.
She and her husband upon retirement moved to Sardis in 1991 where she enjoyed her Rose Garden and Mountain Views.
In May 2002 Betty moved to Yarrow to reside with her daughter and son-in-law. She was passionate about life, family and friends, and will be greatly missed by her constant canine companions ‘Brodie and Hunter’.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Mission Hospice for their compassionate care. Dr. Quentin Smith (Sardis), family friends Rita, Kathie, Eva and Joy who helped with her home care, and the prayers and loving support of her church.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Yarrow M.B. Church on Friday, May 4th at 2:30pm, Pastor Ike Bergen Officiating. No funeral upon her request. Any memorial donations to be made on her behalf to any animal welfare organization.
