Betty Bertha Adeline KREIGER

January 25, 2007

Betty Bertha Adeline Kreiger passed away on January 25, 2007 at Chilliwack at the age of 80 years. She was born July 17, 1926 at Cottam, Ontario. Betty is survived by Carl, her loving husband of 53 years; sons, Gary and Carlyle (Marion); daughters, Kayla (Jeff) Redpath, Betty-Lou(Dick) Klassen and Joan (Phil) MacGillvray; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her grandson David; mother and father, Harry and Lowa Clifford; sister, Maxine and brothers, George and Mervin; nephew Fred Clifford and niece Leanne Michaloski.

Betty was an active member of the Elks Royal Purple, supporting many of their worthwhile programs and serving on the Executive for several years. She was also a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, having served her country as a WREN during WWII. She resided in many communities in Northern British Columbia, including Vanderhoof and MacLeod Lake before retiring in Chilliwack. Betty was very much a social butterfly and always enjoyed an evening talking, joking and dancing with family and friends. She loved people, made new friends easily and often and had a friend every where they traveled. Music was another passion- whether singing hymns in church, listening to the special musical talents of her children and grandchildren, or just singing around a summer campfire. Most of all, Betty loved her family and nothing was more special to her than spending time with her grandchildren, all of whom she adored. We will miss her very much and thank her for all the special memories.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 2:00 pm from St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8871 School Street , Chilliwack; Pastor Don Mossman officiating.

If family and friends so desire, memorial donations to the Chilliwack Elks Lodge Charities 46185 4th Ave Chilliwack V2P 1N3 would be appreciated.
