Bernie was born in Steinbach,MB where he attended Elementary School. His parents (deceased) Ben & Mary spent many years in lumber camps in MB with their boys.
He attended Swan River Collegiate as well as attending Red River Tech where he received his mechanics diploma. He worked in this capacity for Manitoba Hydro for about 17 years then moved to BC and did some logging then spent 14 years at Transportation for the School District 33.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Phyllis, in the 60th year of their very happy marriage; three daughters, Charilyn (Sean) Bosko; Karin (Ross) Hansen and Kristi Loewen. Seven grandchildren, Dr. Chantelle Bowden (husband) James Keen; Chris Bowden; Janaea (Andrew) Morrison, NZ; Zachary Hansen; Rachelle Hansen; Riley Loewen and step-grandson, Parker Keen. Two Great Grandchildren, Luke Morrison and Fraser Morrison.
He also leaves brothers Roy of Alberta; Brian (Jane); Pat (Diane); Phil (Lynn); Randy (Janet) the others of BC.
Bernie and his family attended City Life Church and the formerly, Glad Tidings for over 40 years.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at the City Life Church for family and friends on September 25, 2021.
