With sad hearts we share that Barbara passed away quietly at Sunrise of Vancouver. She lived with joy and died in peace trusting always in God's great goodness. Barbara was born in Edinburgh, Scotland where she completed her nurses training, before coming to Canada at age 30. Scotland remained dear to her heart, with fond memories of her youth in 'the old country'. Barbara was a beautiful & gracious soul; generous, witty & quick to embrace a challenge. Her life was an inspiration and example for many. Mum was predeceased in 2018 by George, her beloved husband of 63 years and by her sister Margaret in 1943. Barbara is survived by her sister Nina Mackay & family in England and cousin Georgina MacLeod in Scotland. She was the absolute best Mother & will be dearly missed and forever loved by her five children; John, Anne, Christine, Mary (John) Griffioen & Jane (Fred) Slootweg. Grandsons Scott & Nate Griffioen and Fred's children & grandchildren.
