Audrey Polak (nee Darbyshire) passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Friday, Mar. 26, 2004 at her home in Chilliwack at age 71 years. She was born in Leeds, England on May 25, 1932 and immigrated to Canada in 1946.
Audrey (Nan) is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Les Polak; Gail (daughter), John, Robyn, Pamela Williamson; Michael Polak (son); Kimberly (daughter), David, Ashlie, Davis Sterling; Daisy Burton (sister) and her daughter Cynthia Koftinoff and family; Peter Darbyshire (brother) and family.
She was predeceased by her parents Percival and Hilda Darbyshire and her sister Doreen Burton.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, Apr. 1, 2004 for the immediate family at her home.
Everyone who knew “Nan” will have memories of her doing her favourite things: gardening in her own “English” garden; living in her bathing suit, swimming in her favourite possession, her back yard pool; and enjoying a game of Bingo and the odd casino jaunt.
“Nan” (Audrey) will be forever remembered by her family and will be missed by her friends at the Chilliwack Bingo Hall.
