Audrey Myrtle WINKLES

Audrey Myrtle Winkles late of Chilliwack, passed away peacefully in her home with her family at her side on Monday, October 18, 2004 after a brief illness.

Audrey lived a full and eventful life. After being born in Kenville, Man. and living through the depression Audrey moved to the Fraser Valley in 1938. Audrey married Bill Britton in 1939 and had six children; Gerry (Sonia), Bonnie (Dick), Darby, Laurie (Al), Neil (Janice), Rod (Kat). Audrey enjoyed her many grand- and great-grandchildren and loved them all. She remarried in 1967.

She spent many wonderful years with her second husband, Wallace Winkles, who passed away in 1999. They enjoyed a great life visiting and traveling. They were avid Bridge players and met many new friends through their Bridge adventures.

Audrey worked at the Coqualeetza Hospital and spent over 15 years with Eatons. She was an avid sports fan who loved the Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, and Toronto Blue-Jays. She was a prodigious knitter.

Memorial Services were held for Audrey at 2:30 PM on Thursday, Oct. 21 from the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack with Reverend Doug Ireland Officiated. A reception followed from the Tea Room at Henderson’s.
