Arthur Rupert John 'Art' Snowden

February 27, 1932 - May 27, 2023
Art passed away in the evening of May 27, 2023 at the Bradley Centre. He was born on February 27, 1932 to Wilfrid and Gwendolyn Snowden and had one sister, Joy. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, one son Dave, and two wives, Val and Lolly.
He is survived by six children, Terry (Nancy) Snowden, Merritt BC; Jim (Diane) Snowden, Chilliwack BC; Doreen Paul, Chilliwack BC; Judy (John) Snowden, Chilliwack BC; Joe (Vickie) Snowden, Port Alberni BC and Lauriel (Shawn) Krug, Chilliwack BC, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a large extended family.
Art had many jobs throughout his life. He was a logger and worked some construction jobs, did window dressings for BC Drugs in Vancouver, custodian for Chilliwack School District for many years at Rosedale Junior High and Chilliwack Senior High and a maintenance worker at a mill on the Alaska Highway.
He was a member of the ANAVETS for many years where he worked as custodian & doorman along with Val who worked the bar. After Val passed away, he remarried and worked in Lolly's ceramic shop.
Art loved hunting & fishing and gardening, but his biggest passion was woodcarving & drawing, which he did from the time he was a child until a short time ago.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Bradley Centre for their many years of providing care for him. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 1pm at Henderson's Funeral Home in Chilliwack. Tea to follow.
