It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father Orville at the age of 91 in Chilliwack, BC. He leaves to mourn Mabel, his wife of over 68 years, and his children Lynn (Al) May, Garry Ehnes, Karen (Tyler) Murphey as well as 6 grandchildren Jeff (Jaime), Derek (Ashley), Cale, Chandra, Ashley (Dustin) and Natasha (Joe) and 3 great-grandchildren Dylan, Brady and Avery.
Orville was predeceased by 3 of his brothers (Les, Gordon and Lyle) and 1 sister (Shirley and her husband Al).
He is survived by 3 brothers Vernon (Bea), Duane (Gwen), Dale (Sharon) as well as 3 sisters Phyllis (Kelly) Klein, Lois (Roy) Burkett, Valerie (Ron) Land; sisters-in-law Joyce, Mary and Ila; and many nieces and nephews.
Orville was born the oldest of 11 children in the Windygates area of Manitoba. He and Mabel raised their family in Winnipeg until they moved to the Vancouver area in 1967. After retiring from Canadian Airlines (now Air Canada) in 1991 he and Mabel spent their winters golfing in warm climates such as Australia, New Zealand and Arizona. Golf was his passion and he was fortunate enough to enjoy several rounds a week until his 89th year.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring Homecare nurses, and the staff at Chilliwack General Hospital and Eden Care Home during the last weeks of his life.
