The Henderson family is extremely grateful to Dr. John Hamilton for his compassionate care, all of the 4th floor staff at CGH, the nurses and doctor’s at the Abbotsford Cancer Clinic, and the many friends who came to visit and provided support. A memorial service will be held at Mount Shannon United Church Friday, February 18 at 2:30 pm. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Center, BC Cancer Foundation, 32900 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC V2S 0C2, or the Chilliwack Hospital Redevelopment Project, 45600 Menholm Rd., Chilliwack, BC V2P 1P7 or charity of your choice.

Arthur was born in Balcarres, Saskatchewan and spent his school years in Kelso and Yellow Grass. He attended St. Andrew’s Seminary in Saskatoon and was ordained in 1952. He served parishes in the Battlefords, Fillmore, Redvers, Melville and Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. Arthur and his first wife, Lorna retired to Chilliwack, BC in 1991. Art was privileged to serve the Mount Shannon congregation during his “retirement” and did so with his wife, Gay, at his side from 1994 onward.

Arthur left his family and friends with these words, “I want you all to know about this great journey I am going on. Don’t be sad because I have been looking forward to this.”
