Art passed away peacefully Nov. 20th, 2019 at Heritage Village Residential Care in his 96th year. He will be sadly missed by Ella (nee Ballam) his wife of 75 years, his son Bob (Betty), daughter Bonnie Mckeown, grandchildren Jalean Behal (Santy), Norman Bedard (Natalie), Douglas McKeown, Jennifer Allan (Chris) and Eight great-grandchildren, sisters Alice Erickson & Regina Bedard, SIL Velma Edmondson (Evan) and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Hawarden Sask Dec 8th, 1923 and came by rail to Chilliwack at age 16 settling in Popkum in 1947 with his parents "Frenchie" & Flora Bedard until his marriage.
He had two loves in life one was his family and the other his life's work as a logger being owner and operator of Bedard Truck Co. Ltd. Local loggers will remember his red Mack logging trucks. He was an extremely hard worker all of his life passing this work ethic down to the next three generations. In his 90's he still split and stacked wood everyday with Bob until dementia stole him from us then he logged in his mind until he took his last breath. Family would like to thank Dr Lynch and the staff at Heritage for their compassionate care.
A Memorial tea will be held April 4th, 2020 at 1:30 pm Cooke's Presbyterian Church Hall, 45825 Wellington Ave.
