Arnold David Tress passed away on Monday, June 11, 2007 at MSA Hospital, Abbotsford, of a stroke at the age of 54 years.
He was born January 9, 1953 in Richmond, BC.
Arnold is survived by wife, Dorothy Ann; stepson: Michael Howell; brother: Arthur (Grace); niece, Paula; brothers: Martin and Carl Tress; cousin: Diane (Gabe) Szekely; Ingrid (Dan) Yuljack, Ron (Christine) Neitsch; and aunt Irene.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Irma and Mathias Tress.
Arnold was a soft-hearted, humble person who cared about family and friends, especially for his brother Arthur who has ALS.
He enjoyed and felt blessed to work for the Chilliwack School District as a custodian for the first 11 years then transferred to the maintenance department, and in the last few months was transferred to the school district mail run. Arnold thoroughly enjoyed this position which gave him the opportunity to visit the various staff members and students within the school district.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 10:00 am at First Avenue Christian Assembly, 46510 First Avenue, Chilliwack, BC. Pastors Charles Coats and Elmer Martin officiating.
Cremation will take place at a later date.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 18, 2007 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Hocking Avenue.
Memorial donations may be made to Mission Endeavers, sponsored by First Avenue Christian Assembly.
