Arlene SCHINKEL

January 13, 2003

Arlene (Radomske) Schinkel passed away suddenly January 13, 2003. She celebrated her 75th birthday in September with her family.

She was born in Freewater, OR. Her farming family moved to Trochu, Alta. and then on to the Okanagan, finally settling in Kelowna.

She had a job in Johnston’s Food Market until she met Ervin and married him in 1951. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2001 and had a wonderful time with many family members and friends. They went South every winter, enjoying the sun and friends and time spent there.

Arlene was a wonderful cook and her love of baking has been passed on to her daughter and one of her granddaughters. She loved to knit and crochet and made many lovely afghans over the years.

Arlene was very faithful in praying for all her family members daily and is having a wonderful reunion with those who have gone ahead of her to heaven. RIP means “Rejoicing in Paradise!’’

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Ervin; daughter Terry (Bob); and three granddaughters, Catherine, Michelle

and Margie. She has one surviving sister, Hilda (Ted) Tetz of Three Hills, Alta.; and many nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Chilliwack General Hospital.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at the Chilliwack Alliance Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart and Stroke Fund, or the Gideons.
