It is with profound sadness that the family of Archie F. Charles announce his sudden passing at age 85 on January 8th, 2021 at Chilliwack Hospital.
Archie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 62 years Vivian, sons Alan (Jan), Bruce, Dan, sisters Lee-Ann (Terry), Shirley-Ann (Larry), brother Donald, grandsons Dustin, Evan, Michael (Marlena), Daniel, Ryan (Christina), Jamie and several great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father Ted, mother May, brother Ken and sisters Marie and Margie.
Born March 17th,1935 in Watson Saskatchewan, Archie joined the Air Force in 1954, immediately embarking on a tour of Europe. Upon returning he met the love of his life Vivian and they were married June 21st, 1958.
They moved to Winnipeg where their three sons were born, then off to Europe again for four years before a final posting to Edmonton. Archie retired from the Air Force in 1974 after 20 years of service, moving his family to Langley to start work in his new career in Non-Destructive Testing.
Archie had a passion for curling and loved fishing and camping with his family. He also enjoyed hunting. Archie retired from BC Hydro in 1997 moving one last time to Chilliwack.
Archie and Vivian enjoyed travel, spending several winters in Arizona. Archie had a passion for dancing with Vivian, they danced as often as possible. In more recent years he loved spending Saturday afternoons at the ANAVETS dancing with Vivian and socializing with friends. Archie will be forever remembered lovingly by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Alzheimers Society of British Columbia or a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
