In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Antonia Cornelia Johanna Mario Sprangers on April 30th 2022.
Left to mourn her passing is her loving husband and best friend of over 62 years, Laurence Sprangers. Also her devoted children, Jackie (Stan), Joanne (Craig), Mark, Laurence and Michelle (Patrick). Mom was predeceased by their precious daughter Marcia in 2009, by her parents Marinus and Jacoba Johanna Mulders and her two brothers, Aat and Franz.
Mom has one surviving sister Riet (Harry) living in Sprundel, Holland.
Oma's many grandchildren, Kane, Catherine, Lucus, Jasmin, Levi Jayden, Spencer, Noah, Jasper, Ethan and Celeste are also left with fond memories of their strong, loving, and spirited Oma. Throughout the years you have all brought tremendous joy and richness to Oma and Opa's lives. Oma loved you all very much and was so proud of each of you.
Our Mom was born on November 10, 1933 in Standdaarbuiten, Holland. Her family lived in a quaint home and owned a delicatessen shop. One of her chores was delivering milk to the families in the village using a horse and buggy. At a young age Mom was already very social and a well connected member of her community as she loved chatting with friends and neighbors.
December 26, 1956 was a happily fateful day when Mom rode her bicycle to a local dance and met the love of her life, our Dad Laurence Sprangers. Our parents made the courageous decision to immigrate to Canada and started their married life together on July 9, 1959 in a small simple ceremony in Cloverdale BC. Five of their six children were born when they lived in Cloverdale from 1959 until 1967. Then in 1967, they took a risk and bought their beautiful farm on 6000 Lickman Road, where their sixth child Michelle was born a few years later.
As a farm wife and busy Mother of six, Mom still had time to pursue her curiosities and interests and enriched our lives with her passions. If there was a club to be joined, Mom was in it. From curling to square dancing, gardening, photography, quilting and much more. Mom also contributed to her Church and community in a variety of ways. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League, the church choir and helped out at the church soup kitchen and Bingo. She also volunteered many hours at the local crisis line where she lent sympathy and comfort to those who had fallen on difficult times. Our Mom also had a great love of nature and all our farm pets and animals. Her and dad created a lovely garden together and spent many hours enjoying its beauty.
