September 27, 2005

(Sept. 23, 1913 — Sept. 27. 2005)

Sadly, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at the age of 92 years at Chilliwack General Hospital.

Anne was predeceased by her husband, Bert, in July 1998 after 60 years of marriage.

Anne was born in Manitoba and spent much of her life there, raising her family. In 1974 she and Bert moved to Chilliwack where they enjoyed their retirement years.

Mom’s life was centered around making a home for her family. She was great at making pies, cookies and cinnamon buns. Among her favourite hobbies was playing cards.

Anne is survived by her five children: Lorne (Lorraine) of Winnipeg, Man., Violet (Fred) Bock of Chilliwack, Marjorie (David) Stephenson of Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia, Ronald (Elaine) Johnston of Calgary, Alta. and Kenneth and Tannis of Winnipeg, Man.; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Eva and her brothers, Jake, Dick, Bill and Bert and many nieces and nephews.

For the past four years Mom enjoyed her home at Chilliwack Lifestyles. With the help of their staff and Home Support Services, they provided a quality environment. A bouquet to dear friends, Iola and Roy Bates for their many visits. A special thanks to Dr. V. Noble for 30 years of exceptional care. The family is grateful to nurses Patricia Dean and Bonnie and their teams for keeping Mom comfortable in her last few days.

Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date in Calgary.

Should family and friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Palliative Care Program, Nursing Unit 3 at Chilliwack General Hospital, 45600 Menholm Rd., Chilliwack, B.C. V2P 1P7.
