Anna Friesen was born July 14, 1914 at Rush Lake, Saskatchewan and passed away on December 25, 2008 in Abbotsford, BC at the age of 94.
She will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her children: Bob (Valerie), Dale (Iris), Stan (Sheila), Carol, Peter (Jan), Al (Darlene), Wayne (Lyde), Wilf (Laura), and Jacquie as well as her 19 grandchildren: Frank, Debra, Pat, Julie, Angie, Shelly, April, Carmen, Lauren, Jason, Sean, Kris, Shannon, Ryan, Maren, Dalen, Breton, Robin and her 25 great-grandchildren. Anna was predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years in 2005, her sister Eva, brother Nathaniel and granddaughter Darcia Louise Ling.
Anna married Peter Friesen on January 16, 1936. After moving from Saskatchewan to BC several times Anna and Peter settled in Sardis, BC where they owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. Countless happy times were shared around the big kitchen table; there was always room at that table for anyone who stopped by for a chat or a cup of coffee. Anna was an extremely kind and generous woman who was very devoted to her family. Her loving heart and gentle ways always placed the needs of others above her own and endeared her to all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 at Noon at Henderson’s Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC.
