(Grethe) Anna Margrethe (Grethe) Jakobsen went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 4:30am at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 95. She was the fourth of eight children to Eskild and Ana Ebbesen.
She was brought up on their mixed farm in Vorbasse, Denmark. She met Harry Jakobsen at a large farm where they were working together. They married on May 20, 1945 and came to Canada in April, 1958 where they settled in North Vancouver, BC. Grethe will be remembered for her gracious hosting of large family gatherings and great Danish cooking, and her continuous faith in her Lord. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Lena and her family and friends. Grethe was sadly predeceased by her husband Harry, foster daughter Andrea Seymour, and all her siblings. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at First Avenue Christian Assembly, 46510 First Avenue, Chilliwack; Pastor E.S. Martin officiating.
Viewing prior to the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Chilliwack Cemeteries on Little Mountain.
