August 1931 - April 2013
Passed away at age 81 on April 30, 2013 in Chilliwack General Hospital. She was born August 14, 1931 in Montreal where she met and married a young soldier, Everett (Sandy), her husband of 62 years.
Ann is survived by her three sisters: Shirley, Joan and Georgina; her husband, Sandy; her four children: Richard (Shelley), Gail (Rick), Sandra (John) and Deborah (Greg); her grandchildren: Adam, Ian (Kate), Thomas, Christen (Craig), Scott (Angela), Megan and Sarah; and five great-grandchildren.
Mom’s legacy is her deep devotion to her family, leaving behind many great memories for family and friends. A strong and feisty woman, she was the family’s rock and defender who was deeply proud of her ‘brood’.
Ann loved dancing, camping, reading, gardening, travelling, renovating, decorating and re-decorating her home. She was a generous and welcoming host, loved being around people, enjoyed playing games and rarely missed a chance to cheat at cards — just for the fun of it.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Chilliwack General Hospital ICU for their kindness, patience and care.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation in her honour. A graveside service for family and close friends was held on Monday, May 6, 2013.
