It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of my wife Ann Peters nee Enns into glory, to be with Jesus December 8, 2014. She was born in Russia 1922. Emigrated to Canada with her parents in 1930. They came to Sardis, BC in 1937 and then to Mission in 1939. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in her teens and was baptized by emersion with her parents in what was then known as the North Abbotsford M.B. Church. Besides helping her parents on the farm and in the home she worked in one of the canneries in Mission. Later she went to Vancouver to do housework and there trained and worked as a telephone operator. In 1951 she married the love of her life Henry Peters and moved back to Abbotsford to join and help him develop a small mixed farm there. It was during the 50's that she with her husband were blessed with the birth of three sons, and in the early 60's took in two foster daughters with Down's Syndrome. As the family grew and the opportunity arose the Peters moved to a larger farm in east Chilliwack in 1969. Here the sons attended school, grew up and married. Ann and Henry with the girls moved off the farm to Promontory in 1981 In 2002 Ann began to show early signs dementia. It was very hard for her to give up the care of her two foster daughters after caring for them for 37 years. In 2007 Ann and Henry moved into an assisted living facility due to Ann's progressing illness. As it progressed slowly she was moved into residential care in May of 2013. After 19 months in this care the Lord Himself took her home to be with Him. We are most gratefull to all the staff that so lovingly cared for Ann at the Cascade Lodge. She was predeceased by her parents Abram and Elisabeth Enns, her sister Kay Borstel and brothers Abram, Peter, and Neil. She is survived by her grieving husband Henry, her son Allen and wife Barb, son Jim and wife Connie, son Dean and wife Edith, as well as grandchildren Amy and Steve Arnold, Sherrisse Peters, Cathyann and Brent Bessey, Stacey and Felise Peters, Dan and Jen, Ryan and Christen, Eric, Kevin and Tyler, eight great grandsons and the two foster daughters Beverly Young and Rhonda Conconi. The memorial service will take place at the Alliance church on Young Rd. Wednesday, December 17 at 1:30 P.M.
