April 21, 2006 - October 19, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of our beloved daughter, Anika Janz on October 19, 2020.
Born in Paraguay on April 21, 2006 to Cris and Sindy Janz, Anika grew up in Abbotsford, BC where she attended Ten Broek Elementary, Ross Elementary, MEI Middle and then Eugene Reimer Middle School before entering Rick Hansen High School as a Freshman this year.
Anika was only 14 years old and a lover of the arts. She enjoyed listening and playing music, reading and writing stories. She was participating in her PE class at the Rick Hansen High School when she suddenly collapsed, and the attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.
It was later discovered Anika suffered a condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
Anika brought so much love and joy in our lives and to those who were around her. She was an incredible girl that loved outdoor activities and our annual camping trips. She will always be remembered for putting others before herself, her gentleness, grace and kindness.
Anika was a precious gift from God! She is survived by her adoring parents, Cris and Sindy Janz, her loving sister Natalie and her loving brother Matthew as well as many family members and dear friends.
Though we are thankful for the assurance Anika is with Jesus, we will deeply miss her presence with us.
Anika will be laid to rest on Friday, October 30th at South Poplar Cemetery with a service at South Abbotsford Church. Due to Covid-19, attendance at the service will be by invitation only, however, we invite the public to share in the Celebration of Anika's life at 10:30 am through this Live Stream link: http://youtu.be/6I09RJLSAUI
