Amy WILTON

(July 11, 1907 - July 14 2007)

Amy was born on July 11th, 1907 in Dauphin, Manitoba and came to Chilliwack with her adoptive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Emerson in 1923. She lived on Hope River Rd. until 1926 when she married Don McFee. They began their married life in Sardis where son Gordon was born. They moved to Tolmie Rd. on Sumas Prairie in 1931 where they carved out a living on the reclaimed lake bottom of Sumas by working the Hop-Yards and dairy farming. Here, 4 more children were raised, and they moved to Harrison St., Chilliwack, in 1957. In 1974 Don passed away and Amy remarried to Arthur Wilton in 1978.

Amy was a member of the St. Andrew’s Caledonian Society, Senior Rec. Centre, Seniors Vet’s Society, Senior resource Society, Carpet Bowlers, and Ladies Guild at Cooke’s Church. Amy’s hobbies were knitting, crocheting, needle point and gardening – especially flowers. She also enjoyed dancing and card games.

Amy is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters. Gordon (Joan) McFee of Burns Lake; Jean (Don) Seraphim of Vestal, New York; Marion Klit of Montrose, BC; Allen (Norma) McFee of Sardis; Ron (Jackie) McFee of Rosedale. Also survived by niece Dorothy Williams and her family of Chilliwack. In addition, she is survived by 18 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother Archie 1946, husband Don in 1974, second husband Art in 1984, and son in-law George Klit in 1992.

The family is thankful for the full and long life of a wonderful lady, mother and grandmother.

The funeral service will be held from Cooke’s Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 1:00 pm with burial to follow in the Royal Legion Cemetery. Rev. Willem Van De Wall officiating.

Should family and friends so desire donations in Amy’s memory may be made to the Chilliwack General Hospital or Cooke’s Presbyterian Church.
