She passed peacefully in her sleep after a short battle with brain cancer. Her son James was at her side. She lived her life as a shining example of strength, determination, and love. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Kenneth Alexander Shiach, her daughter and son, Dianne Shewchuk and James Shiach and his wife, Marilyn Shiach. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott Shewchuk, Samara Shiach, Levi Shiach and Shilo Shiach, also several nieces and nephews and by a (family pet) Max. She was born on May 1, 1932 in Cypress River, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Irene Holmes; her sister; Rhoda and three brothers; Clarence, and twins Barry and Garry also by (family pets) Willie and Skeeter. On February 20 at 11:00 a.m. a service celebrating Mickie’s life will take place at Central Community Church at 46100 Chilliwack Central Road in Chilliwack BC.
