Alpha Lucile (Kay) GUYETTE

May 4, 2012

March 16, 1918 - May 4, 2012

Kay was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan to Herbert and Mae Tubbs. Kay had a brother Jim and a sister Vesta. She was married in 1935 to Leonard Kidder and they had 2 children, Robert and Ada Mae.

In the early 50’s the family moved to the Fraser Valley in BC and Kay continued to work as a cook. She was later employed by Correction Services at Matsqui Institution as a guard. Kay volunteered with Abbotsford Community Services.

She always loved to cook and in her retirement she provided cakes each week to her bridge club at the Friendship House in Abbotsford.

After her daughter Ada Mae passed away from breast cancer in 1995 she moved to Chilliwack to be near her two granddaughters Bonnie Sibley and Michelle Rickaby.

She lived in the Lynwood Retirement Home, then went to live in Eden Care Home.

Kay will be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, cousins and her friends.

A special thanks to all the caregivers and staff of Eden Intermediate Care Home in Chilliwack where she lived for 7 years.

At Kay’s request donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
