Alice Gudrun BODDEN

August 2, 2003

Alice Gudrun Bodden, late of Rosedale, passed away in Chilliwack on August 2, 2003 at the age of 49. She was born on December 15, 1953 in Chilliwack.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. Pastor Pam Pederson officiating.

Alice is survived by her husband, Hans; three children, Tara McCarthy (John), Derrick and Krista; newly-arrived grandson Dylan; father Konstantine Geng; brother Karl Geng (Bev), all of Chilliwack; sister Selma Strowbridge (Sandy) of Abbotsford.

She was predeceased by her loving mother, Lydia Geng.

Alice will be remembered fondly by her family, niece, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Alice loved to read, paint, work in her flower garden and travel but her heart was always at home. Her pride and joy were her three children whom she taught to live, to be the best that they could be, and that good enough just wasn’t good enough.

Her inner strength kept the family together throughout her long illness. The joy that was always in her heart, the smile on her lips, and the twinkle in her eyes allowed her loved ones to find peace within themselves and to go on with their daily lives.

She will be forever in our hearts.

Flowers gratefully declined — donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Chilliwack Hospice Society.

Special thanks to the Home Care nurses, Palliative Social Workers, and the Chilliwack General Hospital ECU staff for all their help and support through the trying times.
