89, passed away peacefully in Chilliwack, BC on August 28, 2018. Beloved Father, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. He is predeceased by both his first wife Helen Madeline "Pat" and his second wife Doreen. Alex is survived by three children, Jim of Chilliwack, BC, Carol of Chilliwack, BC and Don (Leanne) of Brampton, Ontario.
Alex was born in Toronto but moved to Scotland at age 2, returning to Toronto after the war in 1947 and then moving to Chilliwack in 2004. Although he was a true Canadian, we believe his heart will always be Scottish.
Thank you to the staff and residents of Chilliwack Lifestyles Independent Living for helping to make his last few years enjoyable. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mark MacKenzie for his care, support and friendship to Alex and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Carman United Church on September 15, 2018 @ 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted towards the cost of a memorial bench and plaque on the Isle of Bute, Scotland.
