Alex Joseph Pingrenon was born in a log cabin in Wappa, Manitoba at the Pingrenon Ranch on Lake Ebb and Flow on June 9th, 1924. Alex weighed only 2 pounds and spent the first part of his life in a shoe box on the oven door of the kitchen wood stove. At the age of 14 he survived Anthrax. His sister and only sibling died of tuberculosis as a teenager in the Dauphin Hospital.

In 1955 Alex married Mildred Lepla and they moved to BC. Mildred passed away in July of last year at age 77 after their 54 years of marriage. Alex passed away at the age of 85 in the Cascades Hospice after a lengthy battle with Cancer. He is survived by his only child Ed as well as his two grandsons David and Adam.

Alex will always be remembered as a generous and gentle family man.

Alex ran Bargain House Antiques on Fairfield Island for 42 years. It was likely the first home based retail business in Chilliwack.

There will be a Memorial Open House and barbecue for friends and relatives at the family home on Williams Road on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 from 12:00-5:00 p.m. Please do not bring flowers and if you wish to be charitable please make a donation of funds to the Cascades Hospice in Chilliwack.

Dad, you will be terribly missed, I am glad you are no longer in pain!

We Love You!
