On February 22, 2006, Alda DaLuz passed away peacefully in
the company of her immediate family after a brave fight with cancer. Born in Shanghai,China on July 31,1931, her family emigrated to Hong Kong in the early 1950’s where she met her future husband Archie.
In 1958 Alda and Archie were re-united in Vancouver,BC, their love blossomed and they were married in Vancouver on October 7th,1961.
She is survived by her loving husband Archie, son Larry, daughter-in-law
Kathleen,grand-daughter Lauren, her sister Irene, brothers Manuel and Reinaldo,favourite nephew Julio,many other nephews, nieces, and a good number of in-laws.
Alda worked at Eatons of Canada for close to 30 years. There she met many friends and associates, some still in contact to the present time. She and Archie were retired in 1992, moved from their Coquitlam home to settle in Chilliwack to enjoy their sunset years and where she found so much happiness with so many new found friends.
Alda had many interests and hobbies, mainly in sports, music, social activities, and a special fondness for grand-daughter Lauren. She had a great passion for golf with all her good buddies and enthusiastically participated in the Social Committee of her residential complex.
The family would like to thank everyone for their well wishes and support, hospital visits, flowers and cards sent. A Memorial Service will be held in private for family members.
However, a Memorial Tea in celebration of Alda’s life, all her friends and neighbours are welcome, will be held at the Promontory Lake Estates clubhouse at 6001 Promontory Lake Estates clubhouse on Friday,March 3rd at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society will be appreciated. Arrangements in care of McLeans Funeral Services.
