It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of

Albert. He is survived by his loving wife Eunice, of 55 years. Albert is also survived by his daughter Julie (Daryl Croft); his sister Emma; brothers: Lloyd (Katie), Harold (Mildred), Ken (Shirley), Elmer (Linda), Reg (Lydia), Allan (Cathy); granddaughters: Alexis Jennings (Neal), Amy Croft and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his son, Jeff; parents, Albert Sr. (Lydia); sister Renate, and grandson, Rupert Croft.

Albert was born in Hay Lakes, Alberta and moved to Chilliwack, B.C. in 1944. As a boy, he was raised in the Baptist Church. He served in the Air force from 1952-1955 as an aircraft mechanic. When

Albert returned home he joined his brothers in creating Dargatz Brother’s Construction, then in 1960, he, with the same brothers established Dargatz Glass and Door, which became a thriving, well-known Chilliwack business.

He was an avid fisherman who loved nature and the outdoors. Albert cherished his dogs and was often seen cruising around town with “Meeko” by his side. Among his interests, Albert enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: bird watching, walks at Island 22, trips to Hawaii, Mexico and Europe.

He and Eunice were spirited and devoted followers of the Vancouver Canucks. He was a loving husband and father, with a quiet, caring disposition and a wonderful sense of humor.
