Albert Lux passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the age of 90. He was born on December 18, 1921 in Klostitz, Roumania. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maria; sons Rudolph (Lordis) and Irwin; and his brother Rudoph.

Albert came to Canada in 1952 where he worked on a farm in Alberta for a year. In 1953, he met Maria and they were married August 15, 1953. After working at the Palliser Hotel in Calgary, Albert brought his family to Chilliwack in 1956. They purchased a dairy farm on Chilliwack Central road where they lived and worked for 18 years. After selling the dairy farm in 1974 Albert and Maria enjoyed having a hobby farm where he had many small animals. His favourites were his Shetland ponies and faithful dog, Lucy. They had lots of happy years there before selling and moving to a lovely apartment on Spadina Avenue in 2006.

Some of Albert’s most enjoyable pastimes were playing canasta with friends, Thursday morning carpet bowling and telling stories of his early life in Roumania. He often rode the bus to Cottonwood mall to chat over coffee with his buddies. He loved to socialize and made many friends.

A funeral service for Albert will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 1:00pm at The Christ Lutheran Church, 9460 Charles St., Chilliwack, BC, Should friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to their favourite charity.
