Gordon lived his life as a strong, reliable, committed and caring man. He was devoted to his wife and family.

Gordon was proud of and loyal to serving the City of Chilliwack as Superintendent of Public Works for 30 years from 1950 until his retirement in 1980. Of his commitment to those who worked for him he said "I never fire a man because if I did I would not be able to help them." Which he continued to help people throughout his life whenever he could. A man with a big heart he was. As well as enjoying golf (he had 6 holes in one) and was very proud; he also enjoyed fishing. He and the family spent many summers at Timothy and Loon Lake. He also loved curling of which he was the proud owner of the "eight ender" picture that he and his team won one year. After a long and full life Dad has gone to be home with the "Big Man above". A service for dad will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 46048 Gore Ave in Chilliwack at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 29th. A tea will follow at the church hall.
