January 23, 1928 - July 11, 2022
Albert Carl Scheer peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on July 11, 2022, at Tabor Home Residence. He spent the last two years of his life there, where he was loved and cared for by the staff.
Albert was born at home, in Brokenhead, Manitoba to John and Lydia Scheer on January 23, 1928. He was the third of eight children. Growing up on the farm taught him how to work long and hard days. Physical labour was required and valued more than education. So, at an early age he dropped out of school and learned much through experience and his ability to problem solve.
Albert moved to British Columbia and married his sweetheart, Lena Toews in 1951. Together they raised four children on a small farm on Sumas Prairie. He worked at several different jobs including, machine operator, mechanic, truck driver and farmer. He acquired the nickname "Doc" because of his ability to fix and fabricate virtually anything.
His willingness to drop everything to help others was a central theme of his life.
He is lovingly survived by his three sons, Dennis (Glenda), Ken (Julie) and Ray (Anne), his seven grandchildren, his 15 great grandchildren, his sisters, Gertrude (Gerti) and Eleanor and his brother Leo.
Albert is predeceased by his wife, Lena, his only daughter, Sharon, brothers Fred, Willie, Ed and sister, Adeline.
