Alan Bertram Kendrick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 84 years. He was born in Wallasey, England on January 16, 1927 and served in the British Royal Navy from 1944-1947. He trained as a psychiatric nurse at Whittingham Hospital, UK and worked as a prison officer in England. Alan married Thérèse Filoux June 21, 1963 and they moved to Chilliwack in 1972. He worked at Tranquille School in Kamloops and the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Abbotsford. Alan volunteered at the Chilliwack Library and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Ian (Jacqueline) and Stefan Kendrick; grandchildren Amy and David Kendrick; and son-in-law Wayne Apps. He is predeceased by his wife Therese, daughter Laura, and brother Victor.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at St. Mary’s RC Church, 8909 Mary St., Chilliwack with Father Nelson officiating.
