Jean Goss of Eden Intermediary Care Facility passed away peacefully in the presence of family at the age of 98. Jean was born in Alexandrof, Russia, in 1905 and immigrated to Canada in 1910; her family settled in Calgary where she lived until her marriage to John Weber in 1924. Together, Jean and John homesteaded in northern Alberta and raised four children. In 1952, they retired from farming and settled in Calgary, where Jean began a second career as a Nursing Assistant at the Calgary General Hospital until her retirement in 1970. Jean moved to Chilliwack in 1984 and was an active member in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jean was predeceased by her eldest son, Raymond, and husband, John in 1971. They had been married for 47 years. She was predeceased by her sisters Pauline, Alvena and Molly, and brothers Walter and Jack; her grandchildren, Jimmy, Florence and Cindy; and her sons-in-law, Lloyd and Safet.

Jean will be missed by her sister Mary Goetjen and her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Mary Goss. She also leaves behind three loving daughters: Kathleen White, Dorothy Krause and Margaret Ceuric; a son-in-law, Albert Krause, and daughter-in-law, Esther Weber. She will be missed by her grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer and Donald, David and Rosa, Beverly and Will, Daniel and Cathy, Jacqueline and Greg, Michael and Gaye, Patricia and Jim, John and Wendy, Carol-Louise, Christine, Donna, Karen-Jean and Mark. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her 36 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, Apryl, and newest addition, Braedan. She will also be missed by her dear friend Olga Bodnar. Jean’s family would like to extend thanks to the wonderful staff at Eden Intermediate Care Facility for their kind care of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
