nee Jasperse. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and Oma. Adrianna Anna Marie “Jeanne” Guliker passed away peacefully in the presence of her husband, children and grandchildren on January 19, 2013 at the Bradley Center.

Jeanne was born on November 13, 1934 in Leiden, Netherlands. In 1957, Mom immigrated to Canada and married her husband Steve on October 30, 1957. They were married for 55 years and lived their life in Chilliwack, BC. Mom’s first job was cleaning houses. Once their first child was born, Mom stayed home and dedicated her time and energy to be a devoted wife and loving mother. She also helped on the farm and was known for her beautiful geraniums, fuchsia hanging baskets and her vegetable garden. Later Mom enjoyed crafts such as paper tole and card making. Mom was blessed with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Each were unique and held a special place in her heart. Every visit would end with a special “gumball” treat.

As years passed, Mom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s which brought further health complications. Dad was blessed with the health and ability to dedicate all of his time and energy being Mom’s sole caregiver. For a short time Chilliwack Home Support provided assistance to Dad and Mom. February 2012 Mom moved to the Bradley Center. Dad continued to be at Mom’s side every day. His gentleness, love and devotion for Mom during her illness were an inspiration. Jeanne was predeceased by her mother, Wilhelmina Frederika “Mein” Jasperse (nee de Wekker) and her father Nico Jasperse, both of the Netherlands; her mother and father-in-law, Maria and Jan Guliker; brother-in-law, John Guliker (1987); brother-in-law, Frank Boesterd (2007); brother-in-law, George Guliker (2012); three nieces: Jane, Leola, Doreen; and one nephew Gerald.

Mom is survived by her devoted husband Steve; her son, John (Willy) Guliker; daughter, Wilma Kliever (John); and daughter, Cathy Zimmerman (Brian); grandchildren: Johnny (Ruth) Guliker, Benjamin (Denise) Guliker, William Guliker, Ernie Kliever and his partner Emma, Craig Kliever, Annie Kliever, Courtney Zimmerman and her partner Gord as well as one great-grandchild, Jorden Guliker. Jeanne is also survived by one sister Greet (Piet) Luchtigheid in the Netherlands; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nephews and nieces. The family wishes to thank Dr. Basson, as well as all the dedicated staff working at the Bradley Center. Your support, gentleness and nurturing environment was a great comfort to all of us. A special thanks to Rev. Geuze and those who visited and supported Mom and Dad at home and during her stay at the Bradley Center.
