Passed away March 12, 2009 at Chilliwack General Hospital. Abe was born September 9, 1921 in Bloomstein, Russia.

His family immigrated to Canada in 1925. They settled in Saskatchewan and then moved to BC in 1930. After attending Sumas School in Greendale, Abe started working at the early age of 13 doing farm work. He went on to logging until the war began and then joined the Armed Forces.

A foot injury redirected him to a new field of work with Dairyland as a tanker truck driver where he pumped milk from farms in the Fraser Valley and hauled it to the milk plant. Abe remained at Dairyland until his retirement in 1986.

Abe was blessed with three children that were a very important part of his life. He enjoyed raising them and their holidays were always cherished.

Abe married Belle Buhler in 1975, he then welcomed her daughter, and three sons into their family.

Dad loved to go with Mom on their annual trip to Mexico. He enjoyed RV camping, where good times and stories were shared around the campfire with friends and family. He looked forward to his day trips with Allan. He loved company and company loved him.

Abe is survived by his wife, Belle, of 33 years; son Allan; daughter, Nancy (Rick) Chelczynski; stepchildren Ken Buhler, Bob (Susan) Buhler, Debbie (Jeff) McKay; daughters-in-law, Yvonne Neufeld and Mary Stewart.
