Surrounded by family, dad passed away peacefully into the arms of his loving heavenly father on Saturday, September 29. Born in Readymade, Alberta, the third of eight children, he moved to Chilliwack with his family in 1944.

As a young man he worked on his dad's farm, and drove gravel, logging and lumber delivery trucks. He built up his own custom spraying business, but his greatest enjoyment came from farming. Together with his beloved wife, he bought his first farm in 1957 and farmed until his last days. He was involved with his church and worked with the youth into the 80s. He is fondly remembered as a hard worker and a caring, compassionate person. He always had time to listen, loved to joke around, play games or do a puzzle.

He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 63 years, Elizabeth (Betty), children, Gord (Wendy), Harv, (Shirley), Dorothy, (Larry Jantzi), Marilyn, (David Koetsch) and Ron, (Eronica), 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and three siblings.

The celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, October 9 at First Avenue Christian Assembly in Chilliwack.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to www.acop.ca project #562, Hungry for Life, MB Missions, or charity of your choice.
